guitar tab
Stringed instrument shorthand
Guitar tab is a simplified form of musical notation showing where to place fingers on a guitar's fretboard rather than which notes to play.
Six horizontal lines represent the strings, with numbers indicating which fret to press: I learned the solo from an online tab.
Tab makes songs accessible to players who don't read standard notation, though it typically omits precise rhythm information.
