glass frog
Amphibian with transparency
A glass frog is a small tree frog native to Central and South America whose translucent belly reveals its internal organs—heart, liver, intestines visible through the skin.
The name comes from this glass-like transparency.
Glass frogs are typically lime green on top, with the see-through underside serving as camouflage against leaves.
