gazettes

Government news publications

Gazettes are official newspapers or journals, especially government publications that announce appointments, legal notices, and public matters.

The word also refers more broadly to newspapers, particularly in British usage where it often appears in publication names: the London Gazette, the Police Gazette.

To be gazetted is to have one's appointment or promotion officially published.
