folkdance
Cultural group movement
A folkdance is a traditional dance that developed among ordinary people of a region or culture, typically passed down through generations rather than formally choreographed.
The term covers dances performed at community gatherings, celebrations, and festivals: square dancing, polka, Irish step dancing.
