hora
Celebratory circle dance
Hora is a traditional circle dance performed at celebrations in Jewish, Romanian, and other Eastern European and Middle Eastern cultures.
Dancers join hands and move in a rotating circle, often to lively music.
At Jewish weddings, the hora famously involves lifting the bride and groom on chairs: They danced the hora until everyone was exhausted.
