fetishes
Objects of obsession
Fetishes are objects believed to have magical or spiritual power, or objects of irrational devotion.
The word now most commonly refers to sexual fixations on specific objects, body parts, or scenarios: a foot fetish, a leather fetish.
Someone with a fetish finds the object essential to arousal rather than merely enjoyable.
The verb fetishize means to treat something with obsessive regard: Our culture fetishizes youth.
