farads

Electrical storage measures

Farads are the standard unit of electrical capacitance—a measure of how much electric charge a capacitor can store at a given voltage.

One farad is actually enormous for most applications, so you'll typically encounter microfarads or picofarads in electronics.

Named after physicist Michael Faraday.
