exclave

Separated piece abroad

An exclave is a portion of a territory geographically separated from the main part and surrounded by foreign territory.

Alaska is an exclave of the United States, cut off from the contiguous states by Canada.

The term contrasts with enclave, which emphasizes being surrounded rather than being detached: The same territory can be an exclave of one country and an enclave within another.
