embalming fluid
Mortician's chemical solution
Embalming fluid is a chemical solution—typically formaldehyde-based—injected into corpses to slow decomposition and preserve them for viewing at funerals.
The fluid replaces blood and other bodily fluids.
In street slang, embalming fluid refers to PCP (phencyclidine), sometimes used to lace cigarettes or marijuana: They found embalming fluid in his system.
