electroless

Chemical bath depositing

Electroless describes a method of metal plating that doesn't require an external electrical current.

In conventional electroplating, electric current drives metal ions onto a surface, but electroless plating uses a chemical reduction reaction instead, allowing the coating to deposit uniformly even on complex shapes and non-conductive materials.

The circuit boards underwent electroless nickel plating before final assembly.

The process is valued in electronics and engineering for producing consistent, corrosion-resistant coatings.
