disc brakes

Caliper-and-rotor system

Disc brakes are a braking system in which pads press against a rotating disc attached to the wheel.

Standard on most modern cars, they offer better stopping power and heat dissipation than drum brakes: The mechanic said I need new disc brakes on the front.
