two-stroke engine
Chainsaw power source
A two-stroke engine completes its power cycle in two piston movements rather than four, combining intake and compression in one stroke, combustion and exhaust in the other.
This design produces more power relative to size and weight but burns fuel less efficiently and produces more emissions.
Two-stroke engines power chainsaws, outboard motors, dirt bikes, and lawn equipment: The chainsaw's two-stroke engine needs oil mixed with the gas.
