digital painting
Tablet-created art
Digital painting is artwork created using software that simulates traditional painting techniques—brushstrokes, blending, layering—on a computer or tablet rather than canvas.
Artists typically use a stylus and graphics tablet to mimic the feel of physical painting: She spent six hours on the digital painting of the dragon.
The term distinguishes hand-painted digital work from photo manipulation or vector graphics.
