detransition
Return to original
Detransition is the process of reversing a gender transition, returning to living as one's birth sex after having socially or medically transitioned.
This may involve stopping hormone therapy, undergoing additional surgeries, or simply changing presentation and pronouns back.
Some who detransition identify as having been mistaken about being transgender; others retain a trans identity but find transition wasn't right for them: She detransitioned after five years on hormones.
