destructor

A destructor is a special function in object-oriented programming that runs automatically when an object is destroyed or goes out of scope.
Its purpose is to clean up resources the object was using—freeing memory, closing file handles, releasing network connections.
In C++, destructors are marked with a tilde before the class name (~MyClass), while other languages handle destruction through garbage collection or similar mechanisms.
The destructor is the counterpart to the constructor, which initializes an object when it's created.
