disjoint
Disconnect at joints
Disjoint describes things that have no connection or overlap.
In mathematics, disjoint sets share no common elements.
More generally, disjoint ideas or efforts proceed separately without coordination: The committee's recommendations were disjoint from actual policy.
As a verb, to disjoint is to separate at the joints or disconnect: disjoint a chicken.
