contact cement
Instant surface adhesive
Contact cement is an adhesive applied to both surfaces being joined, then allowed to dry before the pieces are pressed together.
Unlike glues that cure while wet, contact cement bonds instantly on contact once dry—hence the name.
It's used for laminating countertops, attaching veneers, and bonding materials where clamping isn't practical: Once you lay the laminate down, there's no repositioning—contact cement grabs immediately.
