masking tape
Removable sticky strip
Masking tape is a lightweight adhesive tape designed to be easily removed without leaving residue or damaging surfaces.
Painters use it to cover areas they want to protect from paint: I taped off the trim with masking tape.
The tape gets its name from its purpose—masking or hiding parts of a surface during work.
