snap fasteners
Clothing closure buttons
Snap fasteners are small metal or plastic closures consisting of two interlocking discs—one with a protruding stud, the other with a socket that grips it.
They fasten clothing, bags, and upholstery with a distinctive clicking sound when pressed together.
Also called snaps, press studs, or poppers (British): The baby's onesie has snap fasteners down the front.
