concretion

Solidified mineral deposit

A concretion is a hard, compact mass formed by the accumulation of matter around a central core.

In geology, concretions form when minerals precipitate and cement together within sedimentary rock, often creating rounded nodules: The limestone contained numerous fossil-bearing concretions.

The term extends to any process of solidifying or growing together into a unified mass.
