insufflation
Blowing air inward
Insufflation is the act of blowing or breathing something into a body cavity or onto a surface.
In medicine, it means introducing air or gas into a space—abdominal insufflation during laparoscopic surgery.
In religious ritual, a priest may breathe on a person or object as a blessing.
The term also applies to inhaling powdered drugs through the nose: nasal insufflation of cocaine.
