armed resistance
Fighting against authority
Armed resistance is opposition to authority or occupation through military or paramilitary force rather than peaceful means.
The term applies to insurgencies, guerrilla movements, and organized rebellion: The armed resistance fought the occupying forces for years.
It carries connotations of legitimacy that "terrorism" or "insurgency" may not, often depending on the speaker's sympathies.
