casting agent
Audition decision maker
A casting agent finds and proposes actors for roles in film, television, theater, and commercials.
They review auditions, maintain databases of talent, and match performers to parts based on a director's vision: The casting agent called her in for a callback.
Distinguished from talent agents, who represent actors' careers, casting agents work for productions seeking performers.
