SAG-AFTRA

Hollywood performers' guild

SAG-AFTRA is the Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, a labor union representing performers in film, television, radio, and other recorded media.

Formed in 2012 through the merger of two older unions, it negotiates contracts, sets minimum pay rates, and administers health and pension benefits for its members.

The union makes news during strikes over issues like residuals and AI use: The SAG-AFTRA strike shut down Hollywood productions for months.
