car jack
Armed vehicle theft
A car jack is a mechanical device for lifting a vehicle off the ground, typically to change a tire.
Most cars include a small scissor jack or bottle jack in the trunk.
To carjack (one word) is to steal a vehicle by force while its driver is present—a violent crime distinct from ordinary auto theft.
