caperberry

Mediterranean brined fruit

The caperberry is the olive-sized fruit of the caper bush, pickled and eaten like its better-known cousin, the caper bud.

Caperberries are milder and less pungent than capers, often served whole as a garnish or appetizer, sometimes with the stem still attached: The martini came with a caperberry instead of an olive.
