cornichon
Small French pickle
A cornichon is a small pickled cucumber, typically one to two inches long, with a tart, tangy flavor.
French in origin, cornichons are crisper and more sour than American dill pickles, often pickled with tarragon and pearl onions.
They're a classic accompaniment to pâtés, charcuterie, and raclette: The board came with mustard and cornichons.
