stadium bleachers
Tiered audience seating
Stadium bleachers are tiered bench seating, typically backless wooden or metal planks arranged in ascending rows.
They're the cheap seats—no armrests, no cupholders, just a place to sit with the crowd: We sat in the bleachers and got sunburned.
The term comes from how sun exposure bleaches the wood.
