bench seats
Long shared chairs
Bench seats are long, flat seating surfaces that accommodate multiple people side by side, without individual divisions.
In vehicles, a bench seat spans the full width of the cabin, allowing three passengers in front—common in older cars and still standard in many trucks: The old pickup had a bench seat up front.
The term also applies to similar seating in parks, stadiums, and waiting areas.
