Intentional head throw
A beanball is a pitch in baseball thrown intentionally at or near the batter's head.
The bean is slang for head, and such pitches are dangerous and against the rules—grounds for ejection.
Beanballs may be retaliation for a previous slight or an attempt to intimidate: The umpire warned both benches after the beanball.
