Reversed punching technique
A backfist is a martial arts strike delivered with the back of the knuckles, typically in a snapping motion with the arm swinging outward or downward.
The technique appears in karate, taekwondo, and mixed martial arts: He caught his opponent with a spinning backfist.
Unlike a conventional punch, power comes from the whipping motion rather than a straight thrust.
