Deep Purple

British hard rock

Deep Purple is a British rock band formed in 1968, considered pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal alongside Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.

Known for the iconic guitar riff in "Smoke on the Water" and virtuosic organ-driven sound, they helped establish the template for heavy rock: Deep Purple's "Machine Head" is a classic.

The name comes from an old song, not the color.
