V-hull

Pointed boat bottom

A V-hull is a boat hull shaped like the letter V when viewed from the front, with the bottom angling down to a central keel.

This design cuts through waves rather than slapping against them, making V-hulls common on boats built for speed or rough water: The V-hull handled the chop better than a flat-bottom would.
