shallow draft
Light water displacement
Shallow draft describes a boat or ship that sits high in the water, with little hull extending below the surface.
Such vessels can navigate rivers, coastal waters, and other places where deeper-keeled boats would run aground: The shallow draft allowed us to explore the marsh.
Draft (or draught) measures the vertical distance from waterline to keel bottom.
