UN peacekeepers
International conflict monitors
UN peacekeepers are military personnel, police, and civilians deployed by the United Nations to maintain peace in conflict zones.
They typically operate under mandates to monitor ceasefires, protect civilians, or support political transitions.
Recognizable by their blue helmets or berets, they serve under international authority rather than their home countries: UN peacekeepers were stationed along the border.
Also called blue helmets.
