peacekeepers
International stability forces
Peacekeepers are military or police personnel deployed to maintain peace in conflict zones, typically under international authority such as the United Nations: UN peacekeepers were stationed along the border.
Their mission usually involves monitoring ceasefires, protecting civilians, or separating hostile factions rather than engaging in combat.
The term extends loosely to anyone who mediates disputes or calms tensions: She's the peacekeeper in our family.
