Tagore
Indian Nobel poet
Tagore is a Bengali surname, most famously associated with Rabindranath Tagore (1861–1941), the Indian poet, philosopher, and musician who became the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.
His name often appears as shorthand for his work: We read Tagore in translation.
The Tagore family was a prominent intellectual dynasty in colonial Bengal.
