inner light
Divine spark within
Inner light is a person's spiritual essence or moral intuition—an internal source of guidance, wisdom, or divinity.
The phrase suggests that truth or goodness comes from within rather than from external authority: She trusted her inner light to guide her through the crisis.
The concept appears across religious and philosophical traditions, often describing an innate connection to the divine or to universal truth. (Capitalized Inner Light is the Quaker theological concept.)
