nature worship
Honoring the wild
Nature worship is religious or spiritual reverence directed toward natural phenomena—the sun, moon, trees, rivers, mountains, or nature as a whole.
The term often appears in descriptions of animist, pagan, or indigenous traditions that see divinity in the natural world rather than separate from it: Ancient Celtic nature worship centered on sacred groves.
Sometimes used dismissively by monotheists to characterize such practices as primitive.
