Ezra Pound

Ezra Pound was an American poet and critic, a central figure in literary modernism.

He championed imagism, promoted writers like T.S.

Eliot and James Joyce, and wrote the sprawling, allusive *Cantos*.

His legacy is complicated by his fascist sympathies and antisemitic broadcasts during World War II, for which he was confined to a psychiatric hospital rather than tried for treason.
