Spacelab

Shuttle research module

Spacelab was a reusable laboratory module designed to fit in the cargo bay of the Space Shuttle, allowing scientists to conduct experiments in microgravity.

Developed by the European Space Agency and operated by NASA from 1983 to 1998, it flew on twenty-two missions: The Spacelab experiments yielded insights into how fluids behave in zero gravity.
