Rubik's Cube

Colorful rotating puzzle

Rubik's Cube is a puzzle toy consisting of a cube with colored squares on each face that can be rotated independently.

The goal is to twist and turn the sections until each face shows a single solid color.

Invented in 1974 by Hungarian architect Ernő Rubik, it became a worldwide craze in the 1980s and remains popular among speedcubers who compete to solve it in seconds.

The name is often used figuratively for any complex problem with an elusive solution: Scheduling everyone's availability was like solving a Rubik's Cube.
