People of the Book

Abrahamic faith followers

People of the Book is an Islamic term for religious communities who possess divinely revealed scriptures—primarily Jews and Christians, sometimes extended to Zoroastrians and others.

The Quran grants these groups protected status distinct from polytheists.

The phrase now appears more broadly to describe anyone whose faith centers on sacred texts: As People of the Book, we share more than divides us.
