Minolta

Defunct photography brand

Minolta was a Japanese manufacturer of cameras, lenses, and office equipment, founded in 1928 and prominent through the late twentieth century.

The company pioneered autofocus SLR technology in the 1980s.

Minolta merged with Konica in 2003, and the combined company exited the camera business in 2006, selling its camera division to Sony.
