MRIs

Detailed body scans

MRIs is the plural of MRI, which stands for magnetic resonance imaging—a medical imaging technique that uses powerful magnets and radio waves to create detailed pictures of organs and tissues inside the body.

Unlike X-rays or CT scans, MRIs don't use ionizing radiation: The doctor ordered MRIs of her knee and spine.

The term refers both to the procedure and to the resulting images.
