brain MRI
Cranial imaging procedure
A brain MRI is a medical imaging scan that uses magnetic resonance to produce detailed pictures of the brain's structure.
Doctors order brain MRIs to detect tumors, strokes, bleeding, infections, or abnormalities: The neurologist recommended a brain MRI after the seizure.
Unlike CT scans, MRIs don't use radiation and show soft tissue with greater clarity.
