Laramie

High plains settlement

Laramie is a city in southeastern Wyoming, home to the University of Wyoming.

The name appears throughout the American West—the Laramie River, Laramie Mountains, Fort Laramie—all named for Jacques LaRamie, a French-Canadian fur trapper who worked the region in the early 1800s.

We stopped in Laramie on our way to Yellowstone.
