Yellowstone National Park
Famous American wilderness
Yellowstone National Park is a vast wilderness preserve in the northwestern United States, mostly in Wyoming but extending into Montana and Idaho.
Established in 1872, it was the world's first national park.
Yellowstone is famous for its geothermal features—geysers, hot springs, and mud pots—with Old Faithful being the most celebrated.
The park also harbors bison, grizzly bears, wolves, and elk: We're planning a trip to Yellowstone this summer.
