A Klansman is a member of the Ku Klux Klan, a white supremacist organization founded after the American Civil War.
The Klan has operated in several waves, terrorizing Black Americans and other minorities through lynchings, bombings, and intimidation.
The Klansmen burned a cross on the family's lawn.
