John Lewis
John Lewis is the name of two prominent entities in English-speaking culture.
The British department store chain, founded in 1864, is known for its employee-ownership model and the slogan "never knowingly undersold." In American contexts, John Lewis typically refers to the civil rights leader and congressman (1940–2020) who marched at Selma and served Georgia in the U.S.
House for over three decades.
His phrase "good trouble" became a rallying cry for principled resistance: Get in good trouble, necessary trouble.
